A life-changing flagship program teaching Jain spiritual principles for practical life transformation.
Parmagam Honours is a life changing flagship program offered in an advanced international structured academic format focused on result-oriented methodology for anyone above the age of 14 years.
It is a comprehensive program that covers more than 40 Jain Scriptures and demonstrates how spiritual principles can be used for day-to-day problem solving to attain inner peace and harmony by helping realise true spiritual purpose of life, leading to a more fulfilling and meaningful life journey.
With just 2 hours live classes every week, this 5 year long program is divided in smaller modules of 10 semesters each followed with Assignment submissions and Open book exams.
This program is also globally recognised with Jain University (JGI), Bangalore certification for each completed year.
To participate in our program, you must be at least 14 years old with no upper limit. There are no other prerequisites or preliminary requirements for enrollment.
This is a 5 year long program divided in smaller modules of 10 six-monthly structured semesters. University Certification is for every 2 semesters.
The fresh academic year begins in February every year.
For first-year students, we offer optional Balbodh preparatory classes that run from September until January. These classes serve as a foundation-building opportunity, aiding students in their spiritual journey. Participation in these classes is optional but highly recommended for a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum.
To accommodate various schedules, we offer both weekday and weekend batches. Upon enrollment, batches will be formed as per convenience of majority enrollments. Weekly 2 hours live classes are conducted (one class of 2 hours or 2 classes of 1 hour each) as per mutual understanding between majority students or teacher availability.
Most of our current batches post pandemic are delivered through live online classes, providing convenience and accessibility. We encourage physical batches wherever possible—if you have more than 20 students in a certain geography and wish to start a physical batch, please reach out to us at help@practicaljainism.com.
The program covers more than 40 Jain Scriptures across 5 years, structured into 10 six-monthly semesters. Each semester includes assignments and open-book objective exams. Syllabus updated January 2026.

Regular and diligent understanding of full 5 years will enable students to:
Although we recommend doing the entire 5 year Program in a single go for better understanding and retention, still under any unavoidable situation, if you had to take a break post completion of any Semester, you may continue the subsequent Semester when you are ready. You may only join ongoing Semesters viz. 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10 Semesters in August and 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9 Semester in Feb any year. The Exam results of the previous Semester will need to be submitted for re-admission.
Yes. If you choose to get University Certification, we provide Jain University (JGI) Bangalore certification for every 2 Semesters. One has to register separately and pay additional INR 200 apart from the regular INR 1500 fees every year to apply for the same.
No. This is not equivalent to any University recognised Degree Course like Shastri. Though, on application, we do provide Jain University Certificate that is a Deemed-to-be University and only offers Certificates as mentioned below on completion of Parmagam Honours regular classes, Assignments and Exams:
Please note our certificates don't qualify as substitutes for graduation or any other course recognised by government or university. This is a private certificate.
5 years Jain Darshan Shastri course is done post 10th standard and is a full time residential regular 2+3 course with 2 years Kanishtha & Varishtha Upadhyay (11th & 12th), which is affiliated with Ajmer board and then 3 years of Graduation from Rajasthan University. It has pre-requisites of certain age group and minimum qualification as stated by the Board and University. Shastris become scholars in Sanskrit language, Jain Logic and Grammar apart from studying more than 40 Jain scriptures in original.
We, at Parmagam Honours course, have tried to incorporate only the Jain syllabus of Shastri course and have tied up with Veetrag Vigyan Mukta Vidyapeeth, Jaipur and JGI, Bangalore for certification!
Please note our certificates don't qualify as substitutes for graduation or any other course recognised by government or university. This is a private certificate.
While you are free to attend the class and not appear for exams, there are many downsides on missing exams:
Additionally, the exams are deliberately kept very simple to encourage maximum people to appear. The Exams are Open book and Objective type and are very easy to attempt. So we strongly recommend you give it a try and experience the difference for yourself.
We give an open window to appear for exams if you are not available on a certain day. So you have many time/day options to manage. If still, you have an unavoidable/critical situation, kindly discuss the same with Central Management team Volunteer and if found justified, we can give you extended period to appear for exam same year. If you still miss out completely, you will have to appear for the exam in subsequent semester same time next year; and hence a year will be lost. But it is fine if a student completes the course in 6, 7 or 8 years instead of 5 years as he gets the same certificate of completion of the full course.
Passing marks are 35 out of 100, but we recommend you repeat the year or exam if you get less than 60 by choice. This is because the objective of this course is understanding of concepts in depth, not just passing.
Assignments carry 50% of total Exam marks and focus on the Practical application of the Concepts learned thereby inculcating Research attitude amongst students. These are preferably based on real-life examples that most can connect with to make their own life better. Marks will be for accuracy and relevance of application and not on language quality or length.
You lose marks.
Yes, that is allowed. Please talk to your teacher for this and if the teacher is not comfortable with your choice of language, connect with Central Management Committee to allot alternate teacher for your evaluations.
Please feel free to connect with Teacher or Team Leader or other brighter students of the class for help in after class hours. You may also feel free to share constructive feedback with the Teacher and Team Leader to make the topic easier to understand.
Yes. If you join a specific batch and wish to change the same later, you can do so with advance intimation to the management, respective teachers, and Team Leader.
